Binota and I were in Panama recently attending the Zone Institute, 24 – 26 Sept. 2010.

Past Director Jose Alfredo Sepulveda was the Convener and he and his lady Mary Carmen did a marvelous job. There were so many centers in attendance, so many languages spoken, so many different dresses worn. All were beautiful. But the Rotary made us all one. And it was great fellowship all through, with a fine final evening dinner event where everyone was dressed in the dress of their own country and there were so many of them.

On the earlier evening, participants went for a dinner cruise on a boat, sticking to the coastline along the Pacific Ocean.

The visit to the Panama Canal, to see how it works – the gates open – the water levels go up or down, the ship passes through and the gate closes – it was all marvelous. And to think that it was done over a century ago.

A good Institute, good attendance, good participation. Well done Director Jose Alfredo and Mary Carmen.
